WURTH SERVICE SUPPLY SELECTS CUTWATER FOR PERFORMANCE REPORTING

WURTH SERVICE SUPPLY

Cutwater preconfigured software provides more than 50 users in North America with ad hoc access to data resident in Wurth’s transaction system, Epicor Prophet 21.

Wurth Service Supply has implemented Cutwater reporting software preconfigured for the company’s transaction system, Epicor Prophet 21 (P21). Wurth Service Supply is an operating company of Wurth Industry of North America and owned by Adolph Wurth GmbH & Co. KG, Kunzelsau, Germany.

Wurth is a major fastener distributor and a premier provider of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs that reduce overall costs in the supply process. Cutwater software allows Wurth employees to quickly and easily use company data to meet day-to-day challenges that require immediate decisions, without requiring Information Technology (IT) support.  Wurth can report on sales, inventories, purchase history and orders at either summary or highly detailed levels.

“Cutwater AIM provides us with a scalable solution that allows our people to use data – regularly and often – to make better decisions,” said Robert Cameron, vice president of IT for Wurth Service Supply. “While we also use Crystal Reports for publishing corporate reports and regular data needs, Cutwater gives our people a way to analyze data without calling on IT resources for assistance.”

Wurth operates 36 stocking facilities throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada.  Each of these facilities is a full service location maintaining sales, customer service and inventory functions and interconnected through the latest software available in the distribution industry, providing a global view of operations across the company.

Cutwater software can be installed in a few hours and user orientation can take less than an hour, using training videos available online. For companies with distributed users, Cutwater’s low-effort product is a practical way to roll out a solution for data analysis. Cutwater software is entirely Microsoft-based and integrated with Microsoft Excel.

“Because Cutwater AIM is so easy to install and – most importantly –  to use, our wholesale distributors are able to access data any time they want to with a minimum of time and effort, “ said Jim Heatherington, managing director of Cutwater. “Wurth has been able to very quickly see the benefits of providing access to important customer data to more people across the company, in a way that is easy to understand.”
